Description

The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, in partnership with the Human Engineering Research Laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh has been conducting State-of-the-Science Symposia for over two decades. This opportunity educates patients and providers on state-of-the-art rehabilitative knowledge and interventions with a focus on the care of injured military Service Members. The symposium is made up of one-day workshops benefiting Veterans, military Service Members and their families, caregivers, clinicians, students, medical residents, community-based organizations, government agency personnel, and healthcare providers.

Objectives of this Symposium: To provide participants with an overview regarding the current state of and developmental pathways for the use of artificial intelligence in physical medicine and rehabilitation. The course will identify and explore the potential of ongoing research in this burgeoning field and how best to harness this novel toolset to improve patient care and health outcomes. Additionally, there will be a strong focus on alignment, synchronization and integration for future research and rehabilitation initiatives.
