CDR Aaron J. Hill is an active-duty U.S. Navy healthcare administrator who has served the military for nearly two decades. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine & Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health Services Research from George Mason University, Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration degrees from Weber State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Utah. Additionally, he graduated with Distinction from the Naval War College, College of Distance Education. Operationally, he deployed to Southeast Asia as Medical Team Lead, Advanced Echelon Blue Team, Pacific Partnership 2012 where he led a team in the planning and execution of civic action programs. He also served as Medical Administrative Officer and Principal Assistant, Medical Department, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74). Additionally, he deployed as Director for Administration, NATO Role III Multinational Medical Unit (Whiskey Rotation), Kandahar Airfield. Ashore, CDR Hill served at Navy Medicine West as Health Facility Planning and Project Officer responsible for the development of military medical treatment facility construction projects. He has served as Patient Administration Department Head at U.S. Naval Hospital Naples, Italy and Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), CA. While assigned to NMCSD, he was selected Associate Director for Administration, where he led a team of 1,200 in day-to-day operation of over 1 million square feet of facilities to support care delivery to over 250,000 patients in Southern California and Service members across USPACOM. In 2021, he was selected Deputy Chief of Staff, Senior Health Policy Analyst, and Military Assistant to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Health Affairs within the Office of the Secretary of War. In 2023, CDR Hill began full-time out-service duty under instruction to pursue a PhD in Health Services Research at George Mason University, graduating in May 2026. He is a Navy General Healthcare Administration Assistant Specialty Leader, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a member of the John P. Murtha Cancer Center.
