Dr. (COL, ret.) Dawn M. Torres is a graduate of Hood College and the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center her gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center, and her transplant hepatology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University. She served in the US Army in many senior leadership positions including Program Director for the National Capital Consortium gastroenterology fellowship, Consultant to the Surgeon General for gastroenterology, Chief of the Walter Reed gastroenterology division, and product line chair for the National Capital Region. She is a national renowned researcher in the field of metabolic associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). She has won numerous awards for teaching, clinical proficiency, and leadership. She is currently the Transplant Hepatologist for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group covering DC, Maryland, and Virginia
