Biography

Dr. Du’s primary academic appointment is as Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

Research projects in Dr. Du’s laboratory focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms responsible for the development of leukemia as well as repression of fetal hemoglobin expression in adult erythroid cells using diverse techniques and mouse models. Significant efforts are also engaged in identifying and developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of leukemia and sickle cell disease.

Dr. Du participates in teaching graduate students on mouse genetics and  molecular techniques.
