Biography
Dr. Elexis McBee is a native of Soldotna, AK who served in the US Navy from 2006 through 2017. She attended medical school at Ohio University before completing Internal Medicine internship and residency training at the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda, MD from 2006-2009. Following this, she was stationed at Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC as a staff internist. In 2012, she returned to Bethesda, MD to complete a fellowship in General Internal Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and also earned a Masters of Public Health degree from the Uniformed Services University. Following completion of her fellowship in 2014, she joined the Internal Medicine team at Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. From 2016 to 2017, she was also served as the Division Head for the outpatient internal medicine clinic. In 2017, she joined the education team at the Uniformed Services University as clerkship faculty or for Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and now serves as the Deputy Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine. She is an associate professor of Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She has participated in several curriculum development projects, research in clinical reasoning and currently participates in ongoing research in gender and leadership.
