CDR Pasman currently serves as the division officer of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command San Diego. Additionally, he is the program director for the general pediatrics residency at NMRTC-SD. He is originally from rural southwest Michigan. He entered the Navy through the HPSP program as a medical student at Michigan State University. He completed his General Pediatrics residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center/National Capital Consortium. This was followed with a tour as a general pediatrician at Robert E Bush Naval Hospital, 29 Palms, California. He returned to WRNMMC/NCC and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology. During this time he started to research the mechanical properties of the esophagus in eosinophilic esophagitis developing a new technique by which forces required for endoscopic biopsy can be measured. This work lead to being awarded the Robert A Phillips and Bailey K Ashford Awards (NCC), Navy-Wide Academic Research Award, and Ogden Bruton Award (AAP-SOUS). In addition to his eosinophilic esophagitis research, he is also published in pediatric ingestion and other injuries.
