Biography

Colonel (retired) George R. Mount, MD, MHPE, FACR, FACP, is a rheumatologist and uveitis specialist who lives in Tacoma, WA. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Madigan and fellowship training in rheumatology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Additionally, he completed a uveitis and ocular inflammation fellowship at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, OR. COL(ret) Mount is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) Master of Health Professions Education Program. COL(ret) Mount’s research interests include professional identity formation in medical education and faculty development. COL(ret) Mount is the former Deputy Director of Medical Education at Madigan and the most recent program director for the Leader & Faculty Development fellowship at Madigan. Dr. Mount is an Associate Professor of Medicine at USU. He retired in May 2024 after serving 22 years in uniform.
