Biography
Dr. Chesnut has extensive clinical and research experience in prostate, bladder, kidney, and testis cancer. He serves as the Principle Investigator for numerous research protocols and clinical trials and has published dozens of articles and book chapters in the peer-reviewed literature in the field of urologic oncology. He completed additional subspecialty training in complex urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was chosen to lead the Prostate Cancer Working Group and the weekly Genitourinary Oncology Grand Rounds.
Dr. Chesnut received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the United States Naval Academy and his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University. He completed his urology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School and served his Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Chesnut’s clinical practice spans the complete spectrum of genitourinary oncology and includes mastery of both open and minimally-invasive (endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic) techniques. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology, the American Urological Association, and the Society of Government Services Urologists.
