Biography
Jeffrey Goodie, Ph.D., ABPP is a board certified clinical health psychologist who retired after 22 years of active duty service. Before joining the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) he served 9 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served as assistant training director of the Wilford Hall psychology residency for 3 years and now served as the Director of Clinical Training of the Medical and Clinical Psychology program at USU for over 8 years. Dr. Goodie has served as a behavioral health consultant (BHC) in family medicine, internal medicine, and OB/GYN clinics. He has trained psychology and social work, residents and providers, how to provide behavioral health interventions in integrated primary care settings. CAPT Goodie serves as an active member of the USPHS deployment team Mental Health Team-2. His recent research has focused on evaluating the effectiveness of behavioral health interventions within the context integrated primary care settings. In 2017 he was awarded an NIH-DoD-VA grant to examine the impact of IBHCs on chronic pain treatment in primary care. He maintains a broad research interests in clinical health psychology as well as interprofessional training. CAPT Goodie has earned awards for Early Career Achievements in Military Psychology from the American Psychological Association's (APA) Division 19 (Military Psychology), the USPHS 2014 Derek Dunn Memorial Senior Scientist of the Year, the Innovation in Teaching Award for the Clinical Sciences from USU's Faculty Senate, and the Dean's Impact Award (2015, 2016). He is a Fellow of the APA, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
