Biography

Dr. Brown is a Professor and the Vice Chair of the Department of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. She obtained a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a combined M.D. and Masters of Public Health degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, MD, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. Dr. Brown served as an active-duty physician in the U.S. Navy and Public Health Service, serving as a medical officer at the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health and completed a Masters in Clinical Research from Duke University while at the NIH. Dr. Brown retired from the Public Health Service and moved to the Uniformed Services University in 2021. Dr. Brown is actively involved in clinical research related to reproductive health including menopause and contraception, particularly in military populations, with several ongoing research grants.
