Biography

Major Katherine Jones, MD FAAP, is board certified in pediatric nephrology and general pediatrics and is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS.)  Dr. Jones also serves as the Chief of Pediatric Nephrology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, providing in person consultation to the National Capital Region and global telemedicine support to patients and pediatricians serving in remote areas. Dr. Jones’ academic interests include congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, acute kidney injury, empathy in medicine, and use of large language models (LLMs) in medication education. Dr. Jones is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, where she contributes to the PREP Editorial Board and Member Education Committee, respectively.
