Research interests
Dr. Madden's interests have been in the area of mucosal immunology, with a specific focus on the host's responses to infection with gastrointestinal nematodes.
Biography
Dr. Madden received her Ph.D. in Veterinary Immunology from the Department of Veterinary & Animal Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, in 1987. Upon graduation, she accepted a postdoctoral appointment at the Animal Parasitology Institute, USDA, Beltsville, MD, from 1987-1989. After completing her postdoctoral position, she joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), in Oct 1989.
