Biography

I am a military physician currently working at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and completed my training at McGovern Medical School (MD), Wright State in Ohio (Internal Medicine), and the University of Colorado (Rheumatology.

My research interests are primarily in the clinical practice of Rheumatology. I am published on multiple case series/case reports related to presentations of Rheumatic conditions. I also have some published data on serological associations in axial spondyloarthritis. I have interest in all rheumatic disease, but have additional passion in the diagnosis/evaluation/management of spondyloarthropathic spectrum disorders.

I have received multiple awards over the years for excellence in teaching both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, including the James J Leonard Award for Excellence in Teaching Medicine in 2023. I have experience in both education in medicine, as I serve as the Associate Program Director for the Rheumatology Fellowship with SAUSHEC, as well as clinical operations, as I serve as the Chief of the Rheumatology clinic at BAMC as well.
