Biography

Dr. Marina Shapiro is an Assistant Professor of Health Professions Education at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. Dr. Shapiro’s research interests are in implementing virtual and augmented reality learning environments into medical education curricula and patient care, health optimization, accessible healthcare, as well as implementing guided-inquiry learning to prepare students to enter into STEM workforce and medical careers. Dr. Shapiro's teaching experience includes Chemistry and Biochemistry pre-medical and health professions courses. Dr. Shapiro serves as reviewer for various education, technology education, medical education and STEM education journals and conference organizations.
