Biography
Michael J. Morris, MD is the Assistant Dean for Research at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University and key clinical faculty for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship. Dr. Morris earned his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center. He is a retired Army Colonel after serving 21 years active duty in various assignments and combat veteran of Operations Desert Storm/Desert Shield with the 1st Infantry Division. He is a recognized expert in the evaluation of asthma, exercise-induced bronchospasm, and vocal cord dysfunction, especially in military personnel. He is the lead researcher in the Department of Defense on post-deployment respiratory symptoms and primary author of the STAMPEDE I and III studies.
