Biography

Dr. Natalie Burman is an academic general pediatrician and medical educator with experience across undergraduate and graduate medical education. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) and serves as Associate Dean for Regional Education and Academic Support for the Western Region, where she oversees medical student education and faculty development across multiple military treatment facilities in the western United States.  Dr. Burman completed her pediatric residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego and subsequently held a range of educational leadership roles within the Military Health System, including residency leadership, clerkship site director, and hospital-wide faculty development. She completed a three-year Academic General Pediatrics fellowship with a focus on medical education at the University of California, San Francisco, and earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.  She is board certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Her research and scholarly interests include faculty development, learner assessment and remediation, and curriculum development.
