Biography

After graduating from University of Cincinnati with a BS in Biology, Nate earned an MD at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, which he attended on a USAF HPSP scholarship. Dr. K then completed residency in General Pediatrics at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. After fellowship, Dr. K was retained at WRNMMC where he was quickly promoted from Staff Pediatric Gastroenterologist to Division Chief, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Additionally, Dr. K serves as the Associate Program Director for the National Capital Consortium Pediatric Residency and as the Pediatric Gastroenterology Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General. Outside of work, he enjoys physical fitness, outdoor activities, coaching youth sports and, most especially, family time with his wife and 3 young children.
