Biography

Dr. Waterman is an infectious disease clinician, researcher, and leader in the battle against antimicrobial resistant bacteria (AMR). Dr. Waterman has worked across clinical, R&D, and policy settings to curb rising drug resistance through surveillance and early detection of emerging pathogens.  She is a proponent for using biotechnology and big data to promote, protect, and respond to various disease threats.  Upon her retirment from active duty service, Dr. Waterman assumed the role of Vice Chair for Clinical Research at USUHS and is currently the Interim Chair of Medicine at USUHS.
