Colonel (Retired) Ramey L. Wilson serves as Senior Advisor on Knowledge Management at the Uniformed Services University's Center for Global Health Engagement and is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. Dr. Wilson retired after 28 years of active duty service in 2022 from the U.S. Army, where he served in a wide range of clinical and operational roles with medical, conventional and special operations units. His particular area of interest/research is in knowledge management, medical care assessments, medical interoperability, global health engagement, medical education, and expeditionary care. He has three combat deployments, totaling 30 months, in Afghanistan and served as a flight and dive medicine physician. In addition, Dr. Wilson is board certified in Internal Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Medicine and maintains an active clinical practice as a hospitalist physician (a specialist in hospital medicine).
Dr. Wilson received his BS in Engineering Psychology (Human Factors Engineering) at the United States Military Academy. He earned his Medical Doctorate, Masters of Public Health with a focus on Global Health, and a Graduate Certificate in Introduction to Health Professions Education at the Uniformed Services University. He earned a Masters of Science in Defense Analysis and a Graduate Certificate in Security, Stability and Complex Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School. He completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
