Rich Zanetti, MD, MPH, FAAP is a Lt Col in the United States Air Force and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University (USU).  He currently serves as the Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program in the National Capital Consortium.  Prior to arrival in the NCC, Dr. Zanetti served as Staff Pediatrician at Altus Air Force Base.  

Dr. Zanetti obtained his BS in Mathematics from Loyola University and his MD and MPH from USU.  He completed pediatric residency training, as well as Chief Residency, at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.  He completed pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training at WRNMMC.

Dr. Zanetti’s research has focused on epidemiology of pediatric cancers and care of the cancer survivor.  He has contributed to several national presentations, and publications.  Dr. Zanetti is heavily engaged in process and quality improvement, heading up multiple interdisciplinary projects that directly impact patient care and graduate medical education.  He currently serves as coordinator for all pediatric resident-based research and quality projects at WRNMMC as well as coordination of resident simulation curriculum.
