Biography
CAPT Taylor Banks is currently the Program Director for the pediatrics residency program at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He completed his initial training in Pediatrics in 2010 and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology in 2013, both at the National Capital Consortium/Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. CAPT Banks has served in a variety of Graduate Medical Education roles including Associate Program Director for the WRNMMC Transitional Internship Program and Allergy/Immunology fellowship as well as the Assistant Director of Medical Education at WRNMMC and the Associate Designated Institutional Official at NMCP. Promoted in 2025 to Professor of Pediatrics with a secondary appointment in Internal Medicine, he has been involved in continued Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education, as well as curriculum design, and research. CAPT Banks has broad research interests, but has most prominently spearheaded initiatives and a national conversation regarding efficient and broad penicillin allergy de-labeling.
