Description

The NIAID Division of AIDS and the U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) remain committed to the common objective of developing a safe and effective vaccine for HIV/AIDS. The Agencies recognize the potential utility of an HIV/AIDS vaccine in stopping the global HIV/AIDS epidemic and the need to conduct and support basic science, preclinical development, and both vaccine and non-vaccine clinical research in developing countries where the epidemic is most prevalent. This Agreement covers the following scope of work: • design and construction of candidate HIV vaccines • pre-clinical research and development, including evaluation of candidate vaccines • pilot lot production • clinical site development including cohort characterization • phase 1-3 human clinical safety, immunogenicity, and efficacy testing • other clinical and epidemiological research studies that support HIV vaccine development
