Mechanism of hepatocyte growth factor regulation of agiotensin converting enzyme expression

Project Details

Description

This project is to examine the mechanisms of Ang regulation by HGF. Ang is pro-fibrotic and HGF is an antifibrotic factor. Primary lung cells will be used.

Layman's description

This study is to understand how to prevent scar formation in lung tissue. Lung fibrosis is a fatal condition with no cure except lung transplantation.

Key findings

We identified some molecular pathways that are activated by HGF to regulate Ang expression.
