Mechanisms of regulation of profibrotic factors in the lun

Project Details

Description

This project examined the regulation of TGFb1, angiotensinogen and angiotensin converting enzyme in primary lung cells and in vivo by the chemotherapeutic agent bleomycin and by ionizing radiation.

Layman's description

Lung fibrosis is a fatal disease in which the lung continues to accumulate scar tissue. This project was aimed at understanding how specific proteins are regulated to result in scar tissue formation in the lung.
