Our project aims to determine the association between participation in this resident faculty development rotation and later service in a faculty role and in academic leadership, as well as the short- and long-term impacts of the rotation on participants.
SPECIFIC AIMS:
Estimate the prevalence of resident faculty development rotation participation and later faculty roles. This assessment will be done using a national faculty database review.
HYPOTHESIS A: More than 50% of participants will serve in faculty roles.
Estimate the prevalence of resident faculty development rotation participation and academic leadership roles. This assessment will be done using standardized survey measures.
HYPOTHESIS B: More than 25% of participants will serve in academic leadership roles (PD, APD, DME, medical student site director, CCC chair, dean’s level position)
Evaluate the short- and long-term benefits of the rotation on participants’ careers. This will also be accomplished through survey methods.
HYPOTHESIS C: Participants will report improved preparedness for teaching in the short-term and preparedness for academic career advancement in the long-term.
