Abstract
A survey of Wisconsin Darkling Beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) conducted from literature searches, collection inventories, and two years of field work (1998-1999) yielded 90 species and an additional two dubiously recorded species from 10 subfamilies. Of these, 51 species (57% of the Wisconsin fauna) represent new state species records, having not previously been recorded from the state. The known distributions of all Wisconsin species are reported by region and county, along with pertinent natural history and other collection information, when known. Also, the Wisconsin tenebrionid fauna is compared to reconstructed and updated faunal lists of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Literature and collection distributional records suggest that there are likely several more species indigenous to Wisconsin.
