Abstract
An asymptomatic college sprinter had severe aortic insufficiency that went undetected until a murmur was picked up during the preparticipation exam. After valve replacement, the patient returned to full competition. The authors detail the early diagnosis, treatment, and careful decision-making that helped this patient resume full activity.
