Abstract
The prevalence of ABO and Rh errors on identification cards and tags of U.S. Army soldiers in two combat units in Europe was studied. Overall prevalence was 11.0% on cards and 10.6% on tags. The possibility and implications of using these items for donor or patient blood characteristics are reviewed. Suggested program improvements are discussed.
