Abstract

The clinical evaluation of a staff nurse orientation program is a challenge to all staff development personnel. In order to meet this challenge, educators are seeking ways to evaluate educational activities in terms of actual performance. At Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, an evaluation study was designed to determine the effectiveness of an orientation program. The evaluation process focused on learner behaviors in the clinical setting.
