Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To compare the effectiveness of community mobilization strategies linked to antenatal, intra partum and post natal care and existing routine antenatal, intra partum and post natal care (without community mobilization), imparted to mothers or community members, including their family members or healthcare providers in low- and middle-income country settings, on access to healthcare knowledge and practices regarding pregnancy care and safe delivery, participation of the community members, maternal mortality, maternal morbidity, neonatal mortality, equity and cost-effectiveness.
