Abstract

Cosyntropin (ACTH α_1-24) infusion caused significantly higher cortisol concentrations, with earlier peak responses, in patients with endogenous depression than in normal subjects. There was no relationship between the cortisol levels after administration of dexamethasone and cosyntropin.
