Epidemic histoplasmosis in patients with undifferentiated fever

Abstract

An outbreak of eight cases of acute febrile histoplasmosis is described in which respiratory signs and symptoms were virtually absent. We caution other physicians to consider acute histoplasmosis in the differential diagnosis of epidemic as well as sporadic undifferentiated pyrexia.
