Abstract

In the Research Article “Recombination initiation maps of individual human genomes,” there was a coding error in the script used to calculate the location of each single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) with respect to the DNA double-strand break (DSB) hotspot center. As a result, the polarity of SNP positions around DSB hotspots was inverted, so that SNPs–N base pairs (bp) from the hotspot center were erroneously measured as+N bp and vice versa. The error affects Fig. 5, C and D, and supplementary gs. S21, S23, and S24. This error does not affect the main conclusions of the manuscript but affects the discussion of the mechanism of mutagenesis at meiotic DSB hotspots.
