Abstract
B-cell lymphomas, neonatal B cells and recently stimulated memory precursor B cells are all susceptible to tolerance induction. A property common to these cells is that they are all cycling. In this article, David Scott and Norman Klinman propose that tolerance is induced by the binding of a B cell's slg at a critical point in early G1 phase of the cell cycle. They make predictions from their hypothesis and invite suggestions for testing it.
