Abstract

Chromatographic fractions from interstitial cystitis (IC) patients with antiproliferative factor (APF) activity were taken and compared with similar fractions from control patients who do not inhibit cell growth, using ion-trap mass spectrometry (IT-MS). Urine collected was also compared to identify the differences in the overall protein expression patterns between the two specimens. The samples were fractionated by liquid chromatography (LC) and monitored by ultraviolet (UV) absorbance. The results show significant differences between the protein profiles of the control and IC patients.
