Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver disease in the world and one of the most common reasons for gastroenterology and hepatology consultation. This chapter will provide the reader with a concise summary of the current knowledge on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease, MASLD, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
