Abstract

“We have been a nation of dreamers and risk takers; people who see what nobody else sees sooner than anybody else sees it. We do innovation better than anybody else-and that makes our economy stronger. When we invest in the best ideas before anybody else does, our businesses and workers can make the best products and deliver the best services.”-the words of President Obama while launching the BRAIN Initiative in 2013. Taking these words forward and making it a reality, SBMT launched a global initiative to build a consortium while working with the leading economies of the world in the G20 Summit called the Neuroscience20. To expedite introduction of diagnostics and therapeutics for neurological disorders by facilitating strategic partnership among governmental agencies, academia, various stage biotech and pharmaceutical companies, startups, nonprofit organizations, philanthropists, venture funds, hedge funds and angel investors for an Investor Symposium & Workshops, the BTIP was launched. On the policy side, the Brain Mapping Day at the US Congress was started to help bring together all stakeholders and make policymakers aware of and help patients in diagnosing and curing neurological disorders.
