Abstract

For a multilayer system consisting of a finite number of arbitrary layers the problem of polariton states is solved within the framework of macroscopic electrodynamics. The surface and interface phonon-polaritons in superlattices are investigated in detail for the case when the condition of translational invariance is destroyed.
