Abstract

The authors present a process for evaluating the clinical application of computerized instruction. They have incorporated this evaluative process into a program for teaching nurses to use a computerized medical information system (MILS) to document the nursing process. An overview of the nursing application of the MIS at the clinical center and the complementary computerized orientation program are discussed. The component phases of the evaluation are highlighted, with specific emphasis on how to evaluate the clinical application of computerized instruction.
