Abstract

The rat model is ideal for investigating various reactions related to small intestinal transplantation. Herein, we describe several rat small intestinal transplantation models we and others established, and discuss their future application as useful experimental models. Each rat intestinal transplantation model technique described and reviewed in this chapter has both advantages and disadvantages. It is important to choose the appropriate model in accordance with the purpose of the study.
