Abstract

A critical component to the 2009 American Reinvestment & Recovery Act (ARRA) is the incorporation of electronic health records (EHR) into all levels of healthcare provision. President Obama's administration foresees the incorporation of electronic information systems as essential for improving the health and healthcare provision of all Americans. The key to adequate preparation of the frontline care providers is to begin at foundational educational preparation for all healthcare professionals.1 The ARRA's $19 billion program to promote the adoption and use of health information technology (HIT) into care revolves around the incorporation of technology into education and preparation of frontline health team members to manage the technologically inundated healthcare arena.1.
