Abstract

Vascular injury is rarely encountered in children. The diagnostic principles in the workup of these injuries are similar to those of adults with a reliance on thorough physical examination and selective CT angiography. The pediatric vasculature’s unique anatomic characteristics, response to injury, and continued growth all make the management of vascular trauma much more nuanced than in the adult population.
